An unpublished writer's dream of fame and fortune...

I made this brief film more to amuse my daughter than anything...

  1. Dang, that is way cool.

Like the part about the carpet.

  2. Alan, it only took me 20 - 30 minutes to do. It would have been better with more trial and error.

Do give it a go - it's a lot of fun. And it did make my daughter laugh.

  3. I have made one just now. It will probably need some more work and I need to find out how to post it to my blog.

    It was fun.

  4. Woot! I can't wait to see it.

Posting it to your blog is straightforward, but with my wealth of experience I can advise if necessary.

  5. And you can find Alan's film here: http://www.xtranormal.com/watch?e=20090526162635337

  6. Just how does one post it to ones blog? I found out how to share it on Facebook, but that's about it!

  7. To the right of the xtranormal screen showing your film is a rectangle titled Embed. Copy and paste all the html in the box to the html option on a new blog post.

    This should do it.

  8. Thank you! It is now on my blog and on my MySpace page!

    Pretty darned neat!

    Pardon my language.

  9. Yes, it's ridiculously satisfying, isn't it?

  10. It's a sad comment on the state of Hollywood but I found the acting in this better than the "The Spirit".

  11. Huh. I see an aspersion has been cast.

I can only afford the free option. Once I've sold the book, I'll pay for the Premium bells and whistles service, and then you'll see, Richie D!

  12. Now I think I will need to make a slightly modified custom version for MySpace. Thanks again for cluing me into how to move the thing.

I do like yours better. You were brave with the two actors and the lines are hysterical.

  13. I don't know - I'd like to tweak it, make it a bit longer and get the expressions more spot on, but I think now it's finished that's not possible.

Perhaps if I get time at the weekend...

  14. No, I was casting aspersions on "The Spirit" -- truly awful. I enjoyed yours!

  15. Der - I know.

And anyway, how boring can one be in less than a minute?

You just wait till the book of the film. It will knock your socks off!

    (mem to self: STOP FANTASISING.)

  16. I just made a slightly different version specifically for MySpace.

  17. What's the link?

I'm not a member of MySpace, and I couldn't find you on the xtranormal site.

  18. http://www.myspace.com/alanhutcheson

I tried putting the videos on my blog, but couldn't get the size right. It kind of spilled over, covering up other stuff.

There are now two on MySpace. Including one inspired by yours!

  19. I see my daughter is moonlighting in your second video - and she's still got her hair in those bunches!

  20. It was the only "girl" I could find amongst the characters and since my daughter is a blond I figured it was my only choice.

I suppose one gets more versatility when one pays for this lovely technology, eh?

  21. Hah! I got it to work by reformatting the page. Still, seems unfair you can fit things in next to each other and I can't.

I would pout if I were a lesser man.

Instead I will grumble a bit.

  22. I made my blog wider - shall I send you the instructions if I can find them?

It's quite straightforward trial and error; the main thing is to write down everything you change so you can get back if need be.

  23. Yes, please.
I am going to need to put you on salary as my Tech Support.
